  1. What inspired you to follow the mechanical engineering route?
  2. Name a skill that you have recently developed. 
  3. How did you manage your time during your undergraduate studies?
  4. What interests you in this position? How do you see yourself fitting into our company?
  5. In what courses did you get your worse grades? Did you take any steps to improve your performance in these classes? What steps did you take or why did you decide to take no action?
  6. Tell us about the first design that you completed.
  7. Describe a time where you have had to work in a group of more than five people.
  8. Tell me about a time when you developed a proactive response to a potential problem.
  9. Tell me about a time when you described a project to a person who was not an engineer.
  10. Tell me about a time when you worked with a difficult colleague. Why did you decide this colleague was difficult to work with?
  11. Some of the projects we will work on include routine or similar tasks. How do you remain motivated when faced with routine tasks?
  12. Tell me about a time when you received a project or an assignment that you did not have enough information to complete and/or had questions about the project outcome.
  13. What would you do if a supervisor asked you to perform a task that was outside of protocol?
  14. If while on the job you made a serious technical error, what would you do?
  15. Describe an unsafe situation that you have experienced. What did you do?
  16. Describe a time where you regretted a decision.
  17. Have you ever had to say no to a request from a supervisor? What were the circumstances?
  18. Tell me about a time when you had to implement an unpopular decision.
  19. What would you do if you finished your project early, but still had a week left on your contract?
  20. Describe the management style of your current supervisor. How have you responded to this style? What will they say about you as an employee and your responsiveness to direction?
