Job Description 

NPARA is offering an extraordinary opportunity to learn about soil health in 2024. We are seeking a post-secondary graduate to participate in our 2024 research program. The Interns will assist in seeding, maintenance, data collection, sampling, harvest and reporting on all soil health projects, data preparation, and other duties as assigned. The position is for up to 16 weeks and the start date is May 6th, 2024, and can be flexible. NPARA staff will provide training and assistance to ensure that interns receive a great learning experience. Salary is $18-20/hour. Standard work week is 37.5 hours. Flexibility for time off; overtime hours can be banked and used as time in lieu.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma or student in agriculture, plant science, soil science, agronomy or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Related experience in agricultural research would be an asset.
  • Attention to detail and ability to access and gather technical agricultural information and data.
  • Possess learning and communication skills to share knowledge in a professional and effective manner.
  •  Positive attitude and willingness to work with other staff.
  • Driven to learn more about field research with various stakeholders (producers, agri-business, government, and academia).
  • Highly motivated and individually driven.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Valid drivers license
