Job Description:
- Design and innovate an engagement plan support needs-driven grassroots that meet the needs for promoting climate action among local communities ensuring the greatest possible impact in achieving environmental health promotion.
- Coordinate and mobilize meaningful and effective outreach and engaging diverse population groups for environmental health promotion.
- Research educational resources related to carbon consumption reduction in a practical way for people to easily understand, such as descriptions of electricity usage and safety, energy efficiency and save for households for low carbon future. Design, coordinate, facilitate and enhance the health promotion activities (i.e. educational workshops, translating educational resources in various languages, designing graphic information, etc.).
- Deliver basic climate action and environmental health education information in educational workshop environment.
- Multi-cultural community group engagement and environmental health activities among marginalized people
- Provide draft updated engagement and education of climate action planning and report.
- Review process and follow up the engaged people in communities for feedback.
- Engage, consult, and build partners' work relationship with community leaders, and electrical engineer professionals.
- Support outreach and follow up the engaged roles.
- Develop a strategic plan to maintain the project focus for broader outreach activities, communication and engagement on climate action for future environmental health.
- Contribute to the provision of strategic communications to team, community members, leaders and environmental health professions.
- Prepare evaluation survey of environmental health promotion activities.
- Facilitate and ensure advocacy, dissemination and engagement activities with project participants and stakeholders.
- The summer job student will meet his(her) supervisor's at least once per week through online and/or in-person.
- The student will share his (her) learning experience with staff members through work logs, e- journaling, and a written final report.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of volunteer experience
- Experience in advocacy and communications
- Experience in working with people in communities.
- Experience in building interpersonal relationship
