OVERVIEW:
Alberta Blue Cross has an immediate opening for a Health Benefits oordinator to join our team. The Government Health Benefits team is responsible for leading benefit plan management with our government plan sponsors. Under the direction of the Government Health Benefits Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing policy documentation, coordinating report delivery schedules, conducing quality assurance checks on reports, and handling inquiries from external stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to play an integral role in supporting government plan sponsors manage their health benefits plans.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Review and compare reports and policy documents to ensure consistency.
- Develop processes to produce consistent written summaries of data reports.
- Ensure deliverables are produced in accordance with established timelines.
- Reconcile invoice payments.
- Collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders.
- Handle inquires from external stakeholders.
- Support the development of new, innovative proposals for benefit plan management of government sponsored plans.
- Develop a strong understanding of the characteristics of the plan populations within our government sponsored plans, and how policy changes would impact them.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations and other benefit plan management documents.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A degree, diploma or certification in Health Sciences, Business, or equivalent field. Background in accounting is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years experience producing high-quality detailed deliverables.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the desire for continuous learning.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed with a strong sense of accountability and resourcefulness.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products such as MS Access and MS Excel
- Ability to work well under deadline pressures.
