DESCRIPTION:
- Edmonton - Laboratory Technician Co-Op student
- Two Co-Op positions are available in our lab for May to Dec (8-month term)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and analyzes client/QC samples using documented procedures
- Schedules workload accordingly
- Ensures that work is conducted in adherence with quality standards
- Prepares and maintains analytical standards and reagents
- Maintains logs and records as required by quality documents
- Maintains inventories (i.e. supply levels, storage, etc.)
- Proficient with standard computer software (MS Office, LIMS, etc.)
- Good time-management, communication (verbal & written), multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment
- Detail orientated & record keeping skills
- Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and instructions
- Prior laboratory experience is an asset
- Flexible in working hours (evenings and weekends)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
