Job Description:
The Digital Content Creator will play a key role in capturing and producing high-quality digital content to promote Chinatown tours and festivals. This role involves documenting events through photography and videography, managing social media content under the direction of our social media advisor, and ensuring the brand's message is conveyed through engaging storytelling.
The Digital Content Creator will play a key role in capturing and producing high-quality digital content to promote Chinatown tours and festivals. This role involves documenting events through photography and videography, managing social media content under the direction of our social media advisor, and ensuring the brand's message is conveyed through engaging storytelling.
Additionally, the content creator will learn to use the StoryCity App to develop interactive virtual tours that highlight Chinatown's rich history and culture. This position requires a creative individual with a keen eye for detail, social media experience, and a passion for storytelling.

Content Creation & Storytelling
- Capture high-quality photos and videos of Chinatown tours, cultural festivals, and community activities.
- Monitor event activities and capture behind-the-scenes moments that showcase the event's atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to develop engaging content
- Edit and produce engaging digital content for social media, websites, and promotional materials.
- Create visually appealing graphics, reels, and short-form videos to highlight Chinatown's heritage, food, and events.
- Ensure all content aligns with branding and storytelling goals to authentically represent Chinatown's history and culture.
- Manage and update social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) with fresh and engaging content under the direction of our social media advisor.
- Assist in creating and managing digital content schedules and campaigns.
- Develop compelling captions, hashtags, and engagement strategies to increase reach and interaction.
- Ensure proper content storage and management in line with organizational practices.
- Learn to use the StoryCity App to create interactive virtual tours of Chinatown.
- Input and format digital content, including photos, videos, and historical descriptions, into the app.
- Work with community leaders and tour guides to ensure virtual tours are informative, engaging, and culturally accurate.
- Attend & document live events, capturing key moments for promotional use.
- Assist with live streaming and behind-the-scenes coverage of Chinatown festivals and special events.
- Work closely with event organizers and local businesses to showcase unique cultural experiences.
- Partner with tour guides, festival organizers, and community members to create authentic content.
- Stay up to date with digital trends, new social media features, and creative content ideas.
- Experiment with new ways to engage audiences and promote Chinatown's tours and festivals.
- Provide regular updates and reports on content performance.
- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution, preferably in digital media, communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in photography, videography, and content creation.
- Proficiency in photo/video editing tools and content management systems or apps (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, etc.).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and engagement strategies.
- Excellent storytelling and writing skills for captions and digital narratives.
- Creative thinker with the ability to adapt content for various platforms.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently. Ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
- Passion for Chinatown's history, culture, and community engagement.
- Availability to attend live events, including evenings and weekends as needed.
