Job Description:

Program Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

Serve as the primary point of contact for referrals from justice partners, including RCMP, probation services, legal professionals, and victims' advocates.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, cultural leaders, and mentors to support restorative justice initiatives.
Develop and implement strategies to increase victim participation in restorative processes, ensuring their safety and legal rights are prioritized.
Organize and facilitate community engagement events to raise awareness of restorative justice principles and practices.
Manage the intake, assessment, and suitability screening process for restorative justice cases.

Facilitation & Support

Lead restorative justice circles, mediation sessions, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Provide trauma-informed and culturally appropriate support to victims, ensuring their needs are addressed and their voices are heard.
Develop individualized accountability plans for offenders, ensuring compliance with restorative justice agreements.
Implement safety plans for victims and participants to ensure a secure and respectful process.
Work with mentors and community partners to support offender reintegration and reduce recidivism.

Training & Professional Development

Facilitate ongoing training for staff and volunteers in restorative justice principles, cultural safety, and trauma-informed care.
Participate in professional development opportunities funded through the Alberta Restorative Justice Grant, including crisis intervention and advanced mediation training.

Data Collection, Reporting & Compliance

Track and document program outcomes, including the number of restorative justice sessions conducted, victim participation rates, and offender accountability measures.
Prepare reports for grant compliance, detailing successes, challenges, and measurable impact.
Ensure program operations align with the principles of the Alberta Restorative Justice Grant and adhere to all legal and ethical standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Conflict Resolution, or a related field.
Experience in mediation, conflict resolution, or restorative justice practices.
Strong understanding of restorative justice principles , victims rights and the criminal justice system.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with diverse groups.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Cultural competence and sensitivity to work with individuals from various backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspaces, and database management.
Mandatory: Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check.
Mandatory: Clear Child Intervention Record Check
Required Certifications: Standard First Aid Level C with AED
Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.

Other Information:

Office-based with frequent travel to meet participants, attend conferences, and engage in community outreach.
Evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate participant needs and community events.
High emotional resilience required due to working with individuals affected by crime and trauma
Strict confidentiality must be maintained regarding participant information.

The position is contingent on the availability of grant funding and may be subject to change based on funding outcomes.
