You will be an integral part of Public Sector Network's production team, supporting several communities through professional development events and providing valuable insights and support to the sector through online content.

Day-to-day you will be collaborating with government stakeholders to create event programs, develop content pieces and build communities to support the professional development needs of the public sector.

Role Description: The Community Manager will work within the Production Team and be responsible for building Public Sector Network events - particularly Government Innovation Weeks (GIWs), Training Courses, and supporting Future Government Institute (FGI) Research Council (RIC) meetings and research. This involves creating valuable content, identifying innovators and building online communities for the public sector. The role is based from home, and will involve some travel throughout North America

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Research and develop an assigned allocation of events per year - to be made up of GIWs, virtual and in-person training courses and research council meetings
  • Become the internal Subject Matter Expert on the States/Provinces you produce in. You will be the go-to person to advise the business on the products you work on, and expected to understand key drivers for buying, have relationships with government points of contact and share this information with colleagues within PSN. Due to this, you need to conduct excellent and extensive research in the market, which will feed into the products you work on
  • Manage assigned online communities by posting on PSN online discussion boards, sharing articles and news to drive membership, content sharing and discussions between members to grow the online communities
  • Work strategically with sponsorship sales and marketing to ensure event sponsorship revenue and audience delivery. This includes generating spex leads, which you will pass onto sponsorship sales
  • Manage events onsite and run virtual events and trainings

GIWs:

  • Undertake detailed telephone/teams call and desk research on specific community event topics and program themes with senior-level government executives
  • Acquire the minimum number of executive-level speakers required per format of each event, laid out in your scorecard including meeting minimum requirements for female speakers on the speaker faculty. Our aim is for a high-quality, cutting-edge speaker faculty that includes gender parity and inclusivity.
  • Collate information and conduct research analysis, to be presented into a detailed spex and marketing kick-off brief
  • Ensure a thorough competitive analysis of the market to avoid other events, and to ensure our events are relevant for the current time of year - e.g. don't put a fire and emergency management event in wildfire season
  • Write post-event report

Training:

  • Research, develop and manage virtual and in-person training, based on the allocation of events you are given
  • Brief the marketing and delegate sales team to ensure they understand why the training course is commercially viable, and why attendees should spend over $1000 to attend
  • RICs and the FGI:
  • Write a research report from each RIC meeting
  • Confirm relevant GIW speakers to join the RIC Cohort
  • Conduct interviews with speakers and FGI fellows, which will be turned into podcasts and written content for the PSN and FGI websites and online communities
